Regea Tissue Bank procures, processes, stores and distributes tissues for clinical use.
One of the most important goals for Regea Tissue Bank is to increase tissue donations. The tissue bank staff handles most of the tasks involving tissue donations so as to enable the hospital staff to focus on the health care. At the Tampere University Hospital, Regea Tissue Bank staff reviews all possible tissue donors and secures the consents for tissue harvestation from the family of the deceased. All possible tissues will be procured. By making the practices uniform and easy, and by causing minimal workload onto the hospital staff, it is possible the increase the tissue donation numbers.
